The COVID-19 pandemic and national lockdown have forced many South Africans to cancel or postpone their holidays. If you are yearning for a break from your own home, there are several wonderful virtual tours and safaris you can experience directly from your Android smartphone.

Alcatel suggests some websites that bring some of the world’s beautiful natural panoramas and wildlife into your home:

360 South Africa

360 South Africa features virtual video tours of hundreds of popular natural sites, tourist attractions and museums around South Africa. Visit Cape Point, Table Mountain, Kruger National Park, the Drakensberg, and more, from your phone.


One of the oldest sites to offer live footage of African fauna, Africam showcases wildlife in high definition video in real-time. Depending on which feed you’re watching, you may spot elephants, lions, leopards and more in the remotest wilderness areas.


In the mood for a game drive? Join wildlife broadcasting experts, WildEarth, which is streaming three-hour long game drives from &Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve and Djuma Private Game Reserve twice a day.
