1. Tell us a bit about yourself?

I would describe myself in six words – mother, daughter, engineer, feminist, environmentalist, and a dreamer.

2. What work do you do?

I am a Regional Sales Director responsible for managing all Southern Africa sales activities across Eaton’s South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi markets.

As a level 1 BBBEE power management company, Eaton is dedicated to improving the quality of life and the environment by providing sustainable solutions that help our customers effectively manage electrical power more efficiently, safely, and sustainably.

3. How long have you been in the industry?

I have been in the energy industry for about 14 years.

4. Has your work always been your passion? Tell us why?

For as long as I can remember, I have always had the desire to make a change by providing solutions that will help people manage their power use and ultimately keep their lights on. Energy is the fundamental requirement for the growth of a country and its people, therefore it is fulfilling to know that the work I do is contributing to something bigger than myself.

5. Being a woman in the industry – what does it take?

Resilience and adaptability. I don’t see myself as just a woman doing this role, but rather a person paving the way for the next generation.

6. What has been the most difficult challenge of your career?

Balancing my career and motherhood. Both require time investment, which has been quite challenging to balance because I love being part of my daughter’s growth as well as doing my job.

7. What advice do you have for other women in your industry?

Don’t compare yourself to anyone else, you are your own competition.

8. Plans for the future?

I want to make a difference even if it is only in one person’s life.
