1. Can you please tell us more about your business?
Luzuko has 3 divisions LZ events which specialises in events for private and public sector, LZ Travel which offers exceptional tours and transfers. Additionally, LZ Creative operates as a dynamic digital agency.
2. When, how and why did you start your business?
In 2017, my partner Motheo and I dove into the world of business together. It all started with us teaming up on various projects, and as we worked together, we discovered that our unique strengths and experiences were bringing something special to the market. Seeing the potential, we decided to turn our collaboration into a full-fledged business.
My journey into entrepreneurship started long before Luzuko. I talk about it in-depth on one of the Abaxoxi podcast episodes, and you can catch the whole story at
3. What is your role in the business?
I look after operations and the strategic direction of the business.
4. Where did you study and what did you study?
University of South Africa, BCom.
5. How did you finance your business?
My first project I loaned money from my family members and reinvested the profits into the business which meant over time the business was able to finance its projects. Establishing and maintaining a good relationship with suppliers helped us to have a credit line and a steady cash flow in the business.
6. Describe your average workday, if such a thing exists.
I wish that existed but typically my day starts at 5 am with devotion and a strong cup of coffee. I prefer to tackle critical matters, plan for my day, and respond to emails early in the morning. I am at the office by 8 am and my day will be filled with client and team meetings, admin and dealing with service providers and will wrap up by 7 pm.
7. How do you balance your home life and your work life?
Being intentional by taking breaks from work but I also understand that I will not maintain that equilibrium all the time because there will be moments when one impedes the other.
In my spare time, I like to go hiking, read, meditate, spend quality time with family and friends and do community service.
8. What drives you and inspires you?
The idea that nothing is impossible.
9. Where and when do you have your best ideas?
In the shower and when I am driving.
10. Where and how do you market/advertise your business for sales leads?
Social media, trade exhibitions, actively searching for RFPs and we have a dedicated sales team who drive brand awareness and secure new business.
11. What is next for your business?
Growth. Increasing our market share in the industries that we currently operate in and looking to grow our portfolio of service offerings.
12. What advice would you give to female entrepreneurs hoping to start their own business?
Just start, there will never be a perfect time. There’s no one-size-fits-all formula. Have the courage to start, dare to dream, and initiate even if your plan is not perfect or clear—because the journey begins with taking that first step. Going into business will undoubtedly humble you.
