Mother’s Day is approaching soon, and it’s a great opportunity to show our appreciation and gratitude towards our mothers. This day is dedicated to celebrating the unconditional love, care, and support that our mothers have provided us with throughout our lives. It’s a time to thank them for their selflessness and guidance.
With only a few days left until Mother’s Day, we asked some of Mzansi’s biggest celebrities to share heartfelt messages to and about their mothers.
Danny Painter, Jacaranda FM radio personality
Danny Painter has gone through a very difficult year and admits that the love and support from her mother have helped her through some of the darkest times in her life. “My mom is the reason I am the person I am today, the reason I have the career I have, and the reason I survived the loss of my husband,” the Jacaranda FM radio personality shares. “She is the strongest, kindest and most loyal woman I know and I can only wish to be half of the woman she is when I’m her age. Happy Mother’s Day Osama, thank you isn’t enough but thank you. You truly are the best mom in the whole world and my best friend!”
Yumbs, Amapiano producer and DJ
Yumbs is a talented musician known for his massive amapiano hits. Recently, he signed an exciting new record deal with Warner Music Africa. Yumbs attributes much of who he is as a person to his mother who has played a significant role in his life. He describes his mother as having a secret stash of superpowers that she uses whenever life presents a challenge. She possesses a mix of strength, compassion, and Yoda-like wisdom that makes her akin to a superhero. According to Yumbs, his mother never backs down from a challenge, and she handles everything with courage and resilience. Yumbs has just premiered his latest single ‘Off My Mind’ with Focalistic, Joeboy, Bien, and Moily.

For Carol Ofori, Mother’s Day is such a special day to reflect on the incredible impact that her mother has had on her life. In a heartfelt message to her mom, Carol says “Happy Mother’s Day, mama! I love you so much. Thank you for all your sacrifices, thank you for putting up with all of my nonsense, thank you for standing your ground and fighting for me to be raised a beautiful, strong woman, thank you for fighting the world and protecting me until I was old enough to make decisions that would impact my life.” Carol adds

Tumi ‘Tums The Narrator’ Mmope, content creator and comedian
Social media sensation Tumi ‘Tums The Narrator’ Mmope has had a remarkable few years and has since catapulted into the spotlight as both a content creator and comedian. The DStv Content Creator Awards winner and Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards nominee admits that her mother has had such a profound impact on her career and takes time out to celebrate her this Mother’s Day.
