1. What is your vision for 2021 as the Co-founder at Nebular Communications?

It’s launching our product on the market and getting our name out there and engaging with as many people as we can.

2. Please could you tell us a bit about your background – what led you down this career path?

I am an artist at heart, I have a Btech in Jewellery Design, studied project management, was a business development officer, and worked as an administrator and data capturer before I embarked on the world of technology. I am fairly new to the ICT industry, I approach life with a student mentality and I believe in innovation and women empowerment and playing in male-dominated industries.

3. What three tips do you have for businesses to increase their satisfaction rates?  
  • Offer multi-channel support
  • Foster loyalty through proactive customer relations
  • Understand your customers needs
  • To be proactive and not reactive
4. When it comes to being a woman leader, what leadership qualities do you feel are most important in your industry?

Learning agility, communication, lead with assertiveness and be deliberate, bold, and not to be afraid to take charge.

5. What is your ‘why?’ (Why are you passionate about the work you do?)

To make a social impact that will uplift communities and create opportunities for women in the business environment.

6. Have you read any books or listened to any podcasts that have inspired you and your career thus far? If so, please provide the titles.

Yes, podcasts The Mindset Mentor-Rob Dial, Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu, Women of Impact-Lisa, Gals on the go, and books The Leader who had no title-Robin Sharma, More myself-Alicia Keys.

7. What is your definition of ‘success and why?

Success is making a difference in people’s lives and getting to see the impact of your hard work and influencing how things are done.

8. Are there any career highlights you’re proud of thus far? And what projects are you currently working on?

Nebular Communications, we started as a team of two as an idea to a team of five, eventually ten and now we are a team of 24 and still looking forward to the growth of the team. it’s my current project it has consumed me completely.

9. Outside of work, are you involved in any extracurricular activities and/or community outreach projects? Please elaborate.

By hosting seminars; this project has created an opportunity for us to empower women from all backgrounds to increase the presence of women in the ICT sector.

10. What elements make for ‘Best Practice’ in your field of business? Please elaborate.

Do what you say, technology is at the centre of achieving business goals and objectives. Most companies are dependent on IT and you must always deliver on your promise. So we at Nebular believe in delivering on the promise to our customers. IT is always about being relevant, staying one step ahead, and being innovative.

11. What advice do you have for young women in South Africa who aspire to work in your industry? How can they differentiate themselves?

Being in a male-dominated sector, women shouldn’t limit themselves or be intimidated to explore opportunities in the sector, just because they don’t have experience or a background, opportunities for women are rife now hence at Nebular we have created a reseller model for women of all backgrounds to participate and be empowered as entrepreneurs in the ICT sector.
