1. Can you please tell us more about your business?

A. I am in the business of helping people live happier and more successful lives through encouraging, supporting and awakening their confidence to move forward. I do this through providing resources, hosting workshops, seminars, doing talks and coaching.

2. When, how and why did you start your business?

A. It started as something I did occasionally as a speaker for special events and then it progressed from there. I did a number of events and talks over the past ten years but my first workshop was Strategise Your Outstanding Life which I hosted in February 2018. From that moment it became something I did more intentionally and more regularly.

3. What is your role in the business?

A. I create the content, packages and host the workshops/coaching. Basically the heartbeat of the business.

4. Where did you study and what did you study?

A. I studied Public Relations at CPUT in Cape Town. Additionally I have done a few courses to help me better my understanding of people, coaching and faith.

5. How did you finance your business?

A. The business was never financed. Each project or job required my personal investment to get it off the ground but essentially it paid for itself as it is a service.

6. Describe your average workday, if such a thing exists.

A. I start my morning at radio from 6am-9am. Thereafter, I have some breakfast and go through emails, plan my to do list and get cracking on content creation, pitching or planning and executing the upcoming projects.

7. How do you balance your home life and your work life?

A. Currently I am working from home. I believe in getting the help you need to be successful instead of overwhelming yourself with the balancing act. I do not compare myself to anyone else. I do what I need to do to get the job done. Working from project to project allows me to shift my focus from work to what needs to be done at home in between projects or on quiet days.

8. What drives you and inspires you?

A. I have a dream of reaching as many people as possible and helping them elevate the way they do life. To bring them joy and help them succeed.

9. Where and when do you have your best ideas?

A. This can happen literally at any time from early mornings in the shower to while being stuck in traffic. I like to chew on an idea for a while so I like taking time to think about it sometimes for a few days before I jot it down or talk about it.

10. Where and how do you market/advertise your business for sales leads?

A. I do social media and social media ads but I also love traditional media and find local newspapers and radio to be very useful depending on what I am putting out there. Connecting and networking is also a powerful part of marketig for me and finally I like to connect with the right online channels for marketing too. When I align all of the above I usually get the best results.

11. What is next for your business?

A. My brand new book 21 Days In Full Bloom is currently the main focus and there are a number of smaller events and campaigns coming up in the weeks to come.

12. What advice would you give to female entrepreneurs hoping to start their own business?

A. Networking, asking for help, and learning to sell are three very important parts of the puzzle. Learn how to do them and get good at it. The sooner the better. The dream is always charming but the reality can be challenging. If you stay true to why you started, stay flexible and keep going then there are amazing things ahead for you.
