The holiday season is almost upon us. As we finish off yearly reviews, final tasks and planning for the year ahead, there is a definite sense of achievement in the year’s accomplishments. You’ve almost made it! The key now is to keep energy levels up to finish 2023 off with a bang.

Claire Bowen, from the personal care brand, Shower to Shower, says: “It’s completely normal to lose focus as the end of the year approaches, but it’s important to make that final push and achieve everything required by setting realistic goals for the final few weeks.”  She takes us through five tips to finish the year on a high note.

Set goals

Believe it or not, setting goals at the end of the year is an uplifting and motivating endeavour! Reflect on the long-term objectives you set for 2023. Celebrate the progress you’ve made so far and consider what additional steps you can take to achieve them by year-end. Remember, it’s perfectly okay to reassess and decide whether some goals should gracefully transition to the following year. Your journey is a success in itself!

A cold shower

Jumping into an ice-cold shower and breathing through the uncomfortable feeling is a wonderful way to feel totally invigorated. The increase of blood flow to the organs assists with optimal brain function, and whereas coffee can leave you with a feeling of muddiness shortly after, a cold shower leaves you alert and full of life.

Get more sleep

In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s common for people to trim their sleep hours, whether it’s burning the midnight oil or gearing up for year-end meetings. However, it’s crucial to recognise that a lack of sleep can impact your energy levels. Everyone’s sleep needs vary, but health experts consistently recommend aiming for at least 7 hours of sleep each night. By embracing this advice, you not only enhance your energy levels but also contribute to your overall well-being and vitality. Prioritise your rest and watch how it positively transforms your days.

Tip: Setting up a regular sleep pattern and unwinding at the end of the day with a bubble bath, a book, or some calming music may help if you have difficulties falling asleep.

Set priorities

Energise yourself by creating a task list and organising it by priority. The demands of family duties, professional pressures, and social obligations throughout the year can impact your well-being.
